Pixlr have not been profitable during the past 15 years under the different ownerships it have had. Yes I love creating things that lots of user can have for free but it does not pay the bills. The daily save limit affects 16% of the users of Pixlr web. Sure let me try to answer some of the questions, some things I can't share since Pixlr is a company not owned by me. I'm sure you've seen my other posts and replies, often filled with rudeness and frustration, but before I give up my concerns with this Reddit and its program, I thought I'd give you one last shot of respect to see if you can give the answers your people deserve. This is the biggest sign of money-seeking yet, and yet you seem shocked to see such backlash. Why do you seem so money hungry all of a sudden? PIXLR was free for all its years, and its changes to premium had always been subtle. How much does it actually cost to keep PIXLR running? Could we see the numbers that compare that cost with the previous combination of ad revenue and premium subscriptions prior to the recent update with the 2-save limit? Why was the update with the 2-save limit not informed prior to its release? Why wasn't the user base consolidated beforehand?ĭo you acknowledge that people can like something without desiring to pay for it, especially if it was free for so long? What was the original intention of PIXLR? Why was it free for so long? Why, in all its years, has it been reliant on Reddit instead of an actual professional means of communication? What are you to PIXLR? A representative? A developer? (NVM, your profile says head of Pixlr, but it says a lot that I had to ask) Is PIXLR even focused on profit, or just staying a free program? Because while it's technically "free" now, we all know it's coercive to have it set up the way it is with the save limits. Why hasn't PIXLR followed in the footsteps of other free programs, like GIMP or ? Such as switching to a free-use license? Has PIXLR felt an increase in survivability or a decrease? I.e., more or less 'profitable'? Is there any consideration for these criticisms or is PIXLR going to be reduced to a select few users? It's been about a week, r/pixlr is flooded with unanimous criticism, it's time you at least provide some answers even if it isn't the ones we want to hear.
